Adolescents: The pre-teen and teenage years bring many new problems and pressures into an adolescent’s life. Not only are they dealing with physical changes and accompanying insecurities and uncertainties, but they may be coming face to face with pressure from their peers to experiment with alcohol and/or other drugs. They might be trying to test the wings of their independence in ways that bring unexpected consequences to be dealt with. Newly surfaced thoughts and feelings may result in pre-occupation with having a boyfriend or girlfriend, dating and all the other social aspects of a teenager’s life. Any or all of these issues or emotions can affect their personal, family or peer relationships and their academic performance. We can help them gain an understanding of what these tumultuous years bring their way and help put them in perspective, so they can confidently navigate their way to adulthood
