Kevin McGraw I practice with a cognitive-behavioral approach and an emphasis on relationships in a brief therapy model. I especially enjoy working with children and teens. My work with under privileged persons in Appalachia, mentally ill clients in a psychiatric unit and emotionally disturbed youth on a wayward boys ranch in South Dakota, provides me with the generalists experience needed to work in the private clinic setting that my partner and I started over twenty years ago.

Prior to joining the staff at Center For Effective Living, I was on staff as a Pastoral Counselor at several area churches. I also worked in the medical field for twenty years, with degrees as a Registered Nurse and Physician’s Assistant. My wife and I have provided Foster Care for over sixty children during the last twenty years, while raising our own six children. I have been involved in some form of human all my professional life and these have given me a broad scope of practice interests that aren’t limited to, but

include depression, anxiety, guilt, shame, forgiveness and family mediation. I also have a keen interest in building strong marriages and families and have presented seminars on these topics. Having gained a fair understanding of the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of life, I hope to use this knowledge to help enrich other people’s lives through my work here at the Center. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, couples, premarital couples and families.
